Performance
Just like the original 1964 model, the 2024 911’s turbocharged flat-six engine is hanging off the back, behind the rear axle. However, you can now get it with 473 hp. A fast-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission is standard with every model, but a 7-speed manual is available for the S and GTS models. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the coupe and cabriolet, but all-wheel drive is available for them. The Targa is only AWD.
Supportive low-slung front seats offer the perfect driving position, while the widely adjustable steering wheel is extremely responsive. You get a supple ride with perfect body control. The coupe and convertible both have increased stability and cornering.
Tech
A 10-inch touchscreen is standard in all 911s. Wi-Fi hotspots are supported, as are wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Two surround-sound systems are available, a Bose 12-speaker unit and Burmester 13-speaker stereo. The gauge cluster is now mostly digital, although there is still a physical needle on the central tachometer to follow those revs toward the 7400-rpm redline.
